The Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course delivered by MHFA England approved instructors and is accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH), the oldest public health body. This partnership ensures the course meets rigorous standards and is regulated by Ofqual, the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation.
Learners receive a certificate of attendance upon completion and may opt to gain a recognised level 3 qualification following completion of the training by registering and completing an eAssessment, accessed via the Learning Hub.
One in four people in the UK will experience at least one diagnosable mental health issue in any one year (Health and Social Care Information Centre, 2009). Stress, anxiety and depression are the biggest cause of sickness absence in our society, accounting for around half of all cases of self-reported work-related ill health in 2023/2024 (HSE, 2024).
Investing in the MHFA course doesn’t just benefit you. You’re helping to create a healthier, more supportive environment where everyone can thrive.
Better understanding of mental health and less stigma ripples out into communities, with the potential to improve and save lives.
MHFA England courses are for everyone! The course is designed so that you don’t need existing knowledge of mental health, just like you don’t need a medical background to take a first aid course.
We would recommend MHFA England training for anyone – just as it’s a good idea for people to have basic knowledge of physical first aid. Here are just some of the people who benefit from MHFA England skills:
