Our approach is centred around early intervention, psychological insight and practical tools that create solid ground for the conversations that change things. When people feel recognised, empowered and equipped to act with autonomy, they are more able to navigate challenges constructively, meaning less time, stress and money spent on unnecessary formal processes.
We understand that the quality of relationships people have with others is vital for overall wellbeing, happiness and performance.
We believe in the potential of people to tread their own path. We honour the expertise people hold in their own lives and support them in making accountable, values driven choices that lead to progress.
We conduct ourselves with transparency and hold ourselves accountable for a fair and reliable service. We value positive and lasting relationships with our stakeholders and ensure we communicate and execute our services with clarity.
So that people embrace conflict and work confidently with challenges rather than against them.
We’ve been in the thick of it, navigating difficult behaviours and competing priorities. That lived experience means we know how to cut through complexity, help you focus on what matters, and move toward outcomes that value everyone involved, improving conflict competence in the process.
We balance proven strategies with what feels realistic for those involved. As an independent partner we create opportunity for honest and calm conversations, helping you unlock insight, reduce stress and build trust where it is needed.
Whether it’s Mediation, coaching, or training, HUMU adapts to your people and your pace. We offer support when and how it’s needed, online, in person, or a blend of both. We’re flexible with timing, too, because we know that resolution can’t always wait for a Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 window. You receive timely support that fits your workflow and prevents escalation.
With over ten years’ experience working in a psychological services setting within the prison service, overseeing a variety of interventions and leading a large team, Diane had a strong foundation to build on. She offers both theoretical knowledge and practical skill associated with difficult conversations, competing priorities and nurturing personal growth.
Upon leaving the justice system, Diane put her HR qualification to use and moved to the Lake District to work as a Head of People in the hospitality industry before starting her own business. Additional qualifications in NLP, coaching, education and training and counselling further enhance the services offered by HUMU.
